A Call to Return to True Christianity | BUILD East Africa Conference | kenya
From August 13-15, 2025, the BUILD East Africa conference was held in Nairobi, Kenya. More than 1,800 pastors and church leaders gathered under the tent at St. George School for three days of meetings focused on gospel restoration.
Pastor Miki Hardy and his wife Audrey were accompanied by a team of more than twenty delegates from Mauritius, the United States, the United Kingdom, France, South Africa and Zimbabwe. They joined pastors Stephen Gachengo and Peter Njao, co-organizers of the event.
Thanks to Stephen Gachengo’s extensive mobilization trips throughout the region, this 20th leadership conference for East Africa organized by CTMI was marked by record attendance, testifying to BUILD’s impact and God’s servants’ thirst for a pure gospel for the restoration of Christ’s Church. East Africa, led by Kenya and Tanzania, was predominantly represented, but participants from Congo and even South Sudan had also made the journey.
Seven meetings took place over the three days. Pastor Miki Hardy developed the theme of “the essence of Christianity,” calling for a return to the true Gospel. The messages directly addressed problems affecting many churches today: the pursuit of titles, pride related to a church’s importance, attachment to worldly riches, the “fabrication” of miracles, and the mixing of faith and law. He emphasized the need to put the cross back at the center of Christian life to form solid believers and authentic preachers. For his part, Pastor Stephen Gachengo exhorted the assembly during a meeting on the importance of becoming true sons and daughters, begotten in the Gospel.
The audience responded very positively to the teachings. The most striking impact occurred during the final session on God’s forgiveness, where hundreds of people came forward to repent. Numerous testimonies spoke of personal transformations. Pastors reported being deeply touched by the message of the cross. The fellowship times allowed new relationships to be formed between participants from different countries. Many expressed their desire to participate in the next conference planned for Mauritius.
Pastor Miki Hardy also had the opportunity to speak on Elevate TV, where he was able to share his views on the state of the modern Church and its urgent need for restoration. Beyond the numbers, this 2025 edition of the BUILD East Africa conference leaves behind transformed pastors and a message that will continue to resonate throughout the region.
