Four Days That Touched Hearts | family camp | france
From August 21st to 24th, near Le Mans, the family camp broke all records. Over 300 people registered at Domaine du Narais, so many that some families had to stay in nearby guesthouses. This great turnout reflects how much families look forward to this annual gathering.
This year’s guest speaker, Pastor Jocelyn Séry, was no stranger to the venue since he had already visited in 2018. He traveled from Reunion Island with his wife Claudie, accompanied by Jacky and Déby Viry. Elders from several assemblies – Chaville, Nanterre, Rouen, La Ciotat and Bournemouth – joined the delegation, thereby strengthening the spirit of fellowship.
From the first messages, the tone was set. Jocelyn knew how to address everyone, whether married, single, young or children. His central message revolved around family and close relationships. He emphasized the importance of cultivating patience and love in daily life, highlighting that these qualities spring from a heart transformed by the work of the cross. His exhortation to grow spiritually and escape the snares of the flesh particularly resonated with the audience.
Couples received special attention. While Jocelyn met with married men, Claudie devoted herself to the women. She warned them against worldly influences and helped them identify traps that could weaken their homes.
One message particularly struck people’s minds: “Don’t touch my sabbath.” Jocelyn developed the idea of resting in Christ, drawing on Colossians 2 to show how Christ’s blood washes, frees and enables us to live in gratitude. The session concluded with a special prayer for the young people, with words of encouragement that visibly moved them.
Before the camp ended, the assembly surrounded Jocelyn and Claudie to pray together. Everyone asked the Lord to accompany them in their upcoming missions to England and Slovenia.
The testimonies that followed all confirmed the same thing: these four days were liberating and strengthening. Everyone leaves blessed and already looking forward to next year.
