The Vision of the Gospel | Pastor Stephen Gachengo | Durban, South Africa
The Durban Church was deeply blessed and stirred by Pastor Stephen Gachengo’s visit over the weekend, 19–22 March. Across two evening meetings and a Sunday service, the call to maintain the vision of the gospel was clear.
“Without a vision, the people perish” (Proverbs 29:18). God and His gospel must remain our first priority. The revelation of His truth must be clear in our hearts and reflected in our lives. Yet, like Eli the priest, we can become spiritually blind unless the Spirit opens our eyes and guides us.
But seeing is not enough—we must respond. Just as Jacob laid everything aside and wrestled with God, we too must “lay aside every weight and sin that hinders” (Hebrews 12:1) in order to run the race with our eyes fixed firmly on Him.
It was not only Pastor Stephen’s powerful voice that left an impact, but also the depth and weight of the message he carried. Through this time, another brick was firmly laid—hearts were challenged, and the vision of Jesus and His gospel was freshly restored.
