Strengthening the Foundations | Pre-Conference Visit | Libreville, Gabon
On 8–9 June 2026, Brother Gilbert Grant visited Libreville, Gabon, to finalise preparations for the upcoming BATIR Conference. The journey began with logistical challenges at the airport, involving a 600-metre transfer of heavy luggage through narrow security barriers in intense humidity. Despite these physical trials, the visit successfully established a strong foundation for the work to come, with a focus on the apostolic mission to equip and strengthen leaders in the region through the message of the cross.
The visit centred on the Assemblies of God complex at Peniel, the designated venue for the conference. Brother Gilbert inspected the extensive facilities, which include a main hall, multiple overflow buildings, and a refectory prepared to accommodate an additional 400 seated participants. He met with Pastor Jude and Brother Fal Raza to coordinate committee efforts, and also toured the FATAD seminary. A significant meeting was held with Brother Gaspard, head of the national evangelical and Pentecostal organisation, CNEPER.
