Beyond the Pulpit: Strengthening Ties in Egypt | BUILD Conference | Alexandria, Egypt
Alongside the BUILD Conference held from 26 to 27 March in Alexandria, Egypt, Pastor Roland La Hausse & his wife had the opportunity to visit churches and meet pastors from 21 March to 7 April.
After a first weekend of preaching in Cairo, Pastor Roland, accompanied by the CTMI team including Eric Rufyiritana, an elder in the church of Holland, and his wife Vanessa, visited Pastor Radi A. Iskandar in Alexandria. He leads one of the largest churches in the city and is well known in the region. The exchange was welcoming and very fruitful. The next day, Pastor Roland preached in the church of Pastor Thomas, who was very pleased to welcome him and the team since he had attended the BUILD conference.
The mission then continued as they moved back to Cairo, where Pastor Roland met with three key pastors on Saturday, 4 April. This meeting was organised by Pastor Hany, who invited Pastor Besem and Pastor Wael to his church, who are respectively the head and secretary of the Evangelical Church in the Cairo governorate. This was a very fruitful meeting, as they wanted to get to know him and understand CTMI’s mission. They expressed their desire to collaborate and were very open to facilitating future follow-up visits or BUILD Conferences.
The following day, Pastor Roland preached at the church of Pastor Amyr in a place called Hope City. In the evening, Pastor Roland, Véronique, and Youssef travelled for one hour through a dense area to reach the church of Pastor Nader. The gospel was warmly received on that day, and the pastors were challenged and encouraged.
Pastor Roland and his wife were very thankful for the welcome they had received from the servants of God during this mission. A special thank you also to Youssef, who faithfully accompanied them and translated all the meetings. We thank the Lord for His grace throughout this mission.
