The Bible: A Handbook for Our Lives | Pastor Richard Langworthy | Johannesburg

From 3–9 February, Bridgeway Family Church Randburg was richly blessed by a visit from Pastor Richard Langworthy and his wife, Ingrid Langworthy.
During a home group meeting, Pastor Richard challenged us to lift our eyes beyond church life and consider our wider impact on the world. He reminded us that many are suffering, and for some, our lives may be the only “Bible” they ever read. In a special session for parents, he presented Proverbs as “God’s Handbook” for raising children, urging a renewed seriousness and emphasising the particular responsibility of fathers. Families were further encouraged in a couple’s meeting to set aside worldly influences in their marriages.
On Saturday morning, Ingrid met with the sisters, speaking on the discipline and priority of prayer. She reminded us that a strong prayer life is intentional and requires commitment.
By Sunday, the scout hall was overflowing with a tangible sense of anticipation. Pastor Richard delivered a sobering message on repentance, highlighting that without true repentance, there is no escape from the consequences of sin and no eternal reward. It was a powerful conclusion to a deeply impactful week. Although their time with us was brief, every moment was fully embraced by the church community.
