Gaborone church visit | Selby Mpofu | Botswana
From September 7-9, the Gaborone church welcomed Selby and Stella Mpofu from Johannesburg for three days of fellowship and encouragement. The welcome extended by the brothers and sisters in Gaborone was warm, demonstrating the brotherly love that unites these churches. From the first day, the joy and expectation of the church were palpable.
Stella Mpofu first encouraged the women during a special meeting, sharing about God’s love and His grace from Acts 2:43-47. She emphasized the importance of unity and mutual submission within God’s family.
The highlight of these three days was brother Selby Mpofu’s ministry on Sunday. Drawing from 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, he delivered a powerful message about the race of faith. He urged the assembly to run with perseverance for the eternal prize in Christ, emphasizing the necessity of putting the flesh to death and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus despite the difficulties we face when walking on the narrow path.
These three days of fellowship were a blessing for the Gaborone assembly, which emerges encouraged and equipped for what lies ahead.
