Reconnecting with the Foundation | Pastors Stephen Gachengo & Jocelyn Séry | Mombasa, Kenya
The mission to Mombasa, Kenya, began with travel from Reunion Island to Nairobi and on to Mombasa. Despite unexpected access restrictions at the airport, the team arrived just in time for departure and continued the journey without delay.
Upon arrival, the BUILD Church Leaders Meetings were held over two days, marking a first visit to the region and bringing together a new group of pastors—many encountering this message for the first time.
Around 50 pastors attended the first day, with numbers increasing to between 100 and 150 on the second day. As the meetings progressed, the atmosphere shifted from initial curiosity to a growing openness and engagement. The sessions, led by Pastor Jocelyn Séry and Apostle Stephen Gachengo, focused on returning to the foundation of the Gospel and strengthening the life of the Church.
A key moment came during a time of response, where several pastors expressed a desire to realign their lives and ministry. One bishop shared that it had been many years since he had heard such a message and expressed a desire to reconnect with this foundation.
Outside the meetings, times of fellowship helped to build relationships among the leaders, creating space for meaningful exchange. The mission concluded with a sense of momentum in the region, with many pastors showing openness and a desire to continue. The team then travelled on to Kilifi, where the meetings were set to continue.
Grateful thanks are extended to all who contributed to organising and supporting the meetings, as well as to every pastor and leader who attended. It is hoped that the connections made and what was shared will continue to bear fruit in the days ahead.
