Pastor Stephen Gachengo’s Visit to France – September 6-12

Upon his arrival, Pastor Stephen Gachengo conveyed to the Paris church the fraternal greetings from their brothers and sisters in Kenya and throughout the East Africa region.

His visit began with a remarkable seminar on September 6-7 in the large auditorium in Chaville. Stephen delivered a powerful teaching on spiritual construction in the Christian life. He emphasized that in order to progress, the “old wine” must disappear to make way for the new man in Christ. Those who stagnate in their spiritual journey must aspire to this transformation, for the Lord entrusts His treasures to mature people (Matthew 13:44). The power of Jesus’ resurrection cannot be received by Christians still “on milk,” remaining in spiritual immaturity.

Following this intensive weekend, the week’s program proved particularly full. On Monday, a warm dinner with the elders and their wives created a special moment of fellowship, enriched by the presence of Jocelyn Séry and his wife Claudie, who had returned from Slovenia. On Tuesday evening, he met with the churches in Nanterre and Chaville around the theme of faith, presented as the seed capable of moving mountains. Wednesday evening was dedicated to a meeting with the deacons and leaders for a time of exchange and encouragement. On Thursday evening, he traveled to Bihorel near Rouen, where many gathered despite the rain to receive this liberating message: “Let go of the past and move forward!”.

Joined by his two daughters, Stephen concluded his visit on Sunday at the church in Chaville, leaving behind a profound spiritual refreshing. He concluded by praying for the elders and their wives, commending them to the Lord in their ministry. The next day, he was already on his way back to Kenya.
