Church Visit | Stephen Gachengo | Mauritius

The churches of Église Chrétienne Océan Indien were truly blessed to receive Pastor Stephen Gachengo during his passage in Mauritius from February 4th to the 12th.
During the Sunday service, he warned the congregation about the hindrances we sometimes carry with us when responding to God’s call, just as Lot went with Abraham when God had called the latter. He reminded the church that such foreign attachments can cause us to lose sight of the vision of God’s calling and the power of the Cross.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, he led a seminar emphasising the importance of continually immersing ourselves in the Word of God in every season. For faith comes what we hear, and what we hear comes from the Word — it is there that revelation is given and where we are strengthened. He also exhorted the church to be led by the Spirit rather than by our own wisdom and understanding, so that we do not stray from the path God has set before us.
Pastor Stephen also took time to encourage the youth, urging them to remain firmly connected to the apostolic link, so that they would not be distracted by personal pursuits or carried away by the pressures of the world.
The church was deeply touched by Pastor Stephen’s heart for them and for the Gospel during this visit, and looks forward with anticipation to welcoming him again.
